Caught volumes of Russian fishing companies increase.

As was reported in the Russian Fishery’s center of public relations, from the beginning of 2012 the total caught of aquatic biological resources of all Russian fishing companies was 225.1 thousand tons, which is by 15.9 million tons (7.6%) more than for the same period of 2011.
In the Far Eastern basin the total catch was 168.5 thousand tons, increasing by 18.1 thousand tons compared to 2011. However, results of pollack fishery are slightly poorer than in 2011 – fishermen brought 109.1 thousand tons, 5 thousand tons less than in the last year.
Fishing enterprises of North Basin caught 32.1 thousand tons of aquatic biological resources - 4.6 thousand tons more than the result for the same period in 2011. Catch of cod was 25.4 thousand tons – plus 7.8 thousand tons compared to the previous year.
In foreign areas the Russian fishermen caught 19.8 thousand tons of fish and seafood, which is 6.5 thousand tons below last year's level. In convention areas and open areas of the world ocean a development of quota was 0.5 thousand tons, which exceeds result of 2011 by 0.2 thousand tons.
Let’s hope, a successful start like this will bring more money into the industry by the end of 2012.
