Catches Show Positive Dynamics

Catches of Pacific herring and cod by are higher than last year

According to the latest data issued by the Russian Fishing Monitoring and Communication Center (FMCC), total catch of aquatic biological resources exceeded 376 thousand MT. Compared to the previous year, volumes of herring, cod, and other species increased.
From the beginning of 2013 the Russian fishing companies delivered over 184 thousand MT of Alaska Pollock against 203.3 thousand MT in the same period of 2012. Results for the Pacific herring are counter, its catches increased by 4.4 thousand MT and by now amounted to 74.6 thousand MT.
According to the press service of the FMCC, the positive trend was also observed in the cod fishing: it was caught 46.5 thousand MT, or 1.7 thousand MT more than in 2012
As for other species, the figures are following:
-          flounder: 5.3 thousand MT (+0.5 thousand MT compared to the same period last year)
-          bass: 0.5 thousand MT (+0.3 thousand MT)
Saffron cod: 9.1 thousand MT (+1 thousand MT).
