First results from Far-Eastern fishermen

A good start of 2012 fishing year on Far-East

From the beginning of 2012 fishing companies of Far-Eastern region of Russia got about 35 thousand tons of aquatic biological resources. Traditionally, the main share of catch is comprised of pollack (21 thousand tons) and herring (13 thousand tons).
In addition, there is fishing for cod, halibut, crab and other species of aquatic biological resources of Pacific Ocean.
Currently on the commercial fisheries there are 73 fishing ships owned by several local companies, including 29 large-capacity vessels.
Last week an average day catch of Far-Eastern fishing companies was 3,400 tons, which is 160 tons more compared to the same period of last year.
Such an optimistic beginning of a year gives a hope for a sound development of the industry during the whole season.
